Inspection & First Article

First-article evidence should match the requirements that actually matter.

Inspection is defined against an agreed specification. This page describes a qualification framework, not a claim that any particular supplier capability has already been verified.

Inspection framework

Possible checkpoints—subject to the agreed scope.

AreaPossible evidenceQualification purpose
MaterialMaterial identity / chemistry record where agreedConfirm the specified material basis
HardnessHardness readings and test method where requiredConfirm the accepted hardness range
Critical dimensionsRecorded dimensions, datum scheme and tolerancesVerify geometry against the reviewed revision
Edge / profileAngle, radius, profile and inspection referencesControl the defined cutting geometry
TraceabilityLot/batch identifier linked to inspection recordsSupport controlled repeat-order identification

First article

Inspection does not replace application validation.

A dimensional or material pass confirms only the agreed inspection scope. Installation, alignment, clearance, shear setup and glass-process acceptance remain part of the customer-controlled application qualification.
